Carnival of Education - on a newspaper blog

This week's Carnival of Education is up, in three parts, on Get On The Bus. Here are Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

Get On The Bus is the school-beat blog of the Dayton Daily News. This is, thus, the second time a carnival was hosted by a blog officially affiliated with a newspaper. Ha! The Tar Heel Tavern beat them by four days as the first carnival to be hosted by an MSM-owned blog!

I REALLY like this kind of development. This shows that at least some MSM folks are starting to understand what blogging is all about.

Interestingly, at the ConvergeSouth conference last month I suggested to Jay Rosen that the first journalist who figures out how to use blogs well will not be a big front-page name, but a beat reporter. My suggestion: food, sports, science or health. Jay vouched for the school beat reporter. As far as carnivals go, I beat Jay by four days, which really means we were both right.
